Holy $h!t-balls this series just got freakishly good!
I was a bit perturbed by Marla in the book, but I realized that she is doomed from the get-go for any type of romance. That and she has the same type of outlook on having a romp that I do. My life shouldn't center around it all of the time, and I certainly don't want to read about it either.
I also liked that Marla was back on her home turf. The first book was just completely odd and unique in that aspect, but if you really want to start this series then start with Bone Shop. It's a prequel to the first one.

Finally got back to this book after being lost. (This is a reoccurring problem that happens at the most of unfortunate times.)
I started it over again, because I remembered that it had an interesting duel plot working for it.
I was baffled after looking up St. Marks day, and had no inclination of the holiday. Nice one Ms. Stiefvater!

With the characters:
Blue Sargent ~ I found it intriguing that Blue is from a family of psychics. She has the houseful of awesome aunts. You could probably akin this to Practical Magic times five. She has a very stubborn attitude, and I can't really understand this way of thinking. It seems that she hasn't reached the epiphany that she really is powerful.

Richard "Dick" Campbell Gansey ~ I really didn't like this guy for some things, and other things I respected. I was not a happy camper about his clueless attitude about money, and the carelessness that he exhibits when he overlooks other peoples concern for prices.

Adam Parrish ~ I really feel for this kid. He can be comparable to a growing percentile. I can rant and rave about this for hours; so maybe I'll save that for another day.

Ronan Lynch ~ this guy! Yes this guy just Pi^&$#g me off. All along while taking care of the raven. He names the thing Chainsaw, who the hell does that really? (The only reason I keep giving him a chance so far.) I don't get this most likely it will be revealed by the end of the book.

Noah Churney ~ Now this guy I just don't get. Is he a ghost, a revnent?
What has his purpose been to haunt the rest of the kids? I like his personality yet not his situation. The further I get into the plot the more that is revealed.

This Heinlein read was bizarre compared to some of his other books. That doesn't mean it wasn't enjoyable. Mike was a hilarious character and he and the professor made the whole book for me.
What I found really interesting though was how polygamy wasn't an issue in this book, but in fact made a lot better sense than the people of Terra.

I saw this in the bookstore on my last visit, and loved the cover. The book itself is small and feels like a companion reference book when you hold it next to the first two books. I can't wait to read it!

I will say that I was a bit disappointed after finishing this short story. Auri reminds me of a character suffering from severe OCD with a side of manic bi-polar disorder. Did something happen to her? I don't understand why she didn't use anything from the underthing or why she was alone. Why was the underthing abandoned?

Pratchett takes the perfect opportunity to point out the pro's and con's of the News. He also takes his time to rail about its major flaws, and its propensity to make tense situations worse.

I'm having a really hard time sticking with this particular read. This, Madame Bovery & David Copperfield threw me into the worst reading slump I've ever been in.

I am not an Emma fan. I can not stand someone nosing into other peoples' business, and think they can play "God" with someone's future or emotions. It's wrong, and to top it off the superiority complex that she has about herself. WTF is that? Someone please explain it to me.?.

In fact it just makes me uncontrollably angry, and I'm afraid my face will get stuck in a permanent scowl...

To me it seems that any woman of wealth and culture were doomed to be extremely bored, and devoid of enjoyment. I'm surprised by Austin in this writing actually, as she wrote the perspective of an aristocrat, when she had always written about poorer prospects. Yes, she wrote about the nobles, but very rarely did she use them as her main characters. I think Austin was intentionally ribbing the Ton when she wrote this.

It seemed that she was facing a difficult period and was taking out her frustrations from life on and in her writing. Emma was merely the result of it.

This book was adorably charming. It's about a cat so of course it's charming. The artstyle was fantastic, and the plot complex yet simple. There is a very important political theme to this, one that I think that current politico-s should take a lesson from. This should be easy enough for an advanced 2nd grader or a struggling 3rd grader. Don't let them miss out on it.

Surprisingly there are few children's books on the 1001 Book to Read Before You Die list, but this is one of the few. The tone is very meloncholy, but uplifting in the sense of creativity. For the era which this was written it was brilliant, and the translator's worked very hard to convey the feeling that captured so many hearts of France.
